If you are from the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) you may remember the bar in Annandale called the Sunset Grille. It opened, I believe in the late 80's and had good live music. I remember going to watch, listen and play in their open mic when I was getting back into music. This place had a lot of character and a lot of "characters" so I wrote a song about it. Bill Kirchen, guitar player was a regular there on Thursday nights. He played with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen and I reference their song, "Hot Rod Lincoln"
At every stage in life you become part of a new group sharing life's lessons, learning what it means to be part of that new group and also being stereotyped for being part of that "CLUB".
